Modern Animal recommends wellness exams for senior pets every six months rather than annually. These more frequent visits allow our veterinarians to catch potential age-related problems early and monitor chronic conditions more closely. During senior wellness exams, we conduct thorough physical examinations and may recommend bloodwork and other diagnostics to monitor your pet's organ function and overall health.

Our team works with you to create a personalized care plan that addresses your senior pet's specific needs, focuses on maintaining their quality of life, and keeps them comfortable and healthy throughout their golden years.

Caring for senior pets often means more frequent visits and a few extra tests to stay ahead of health changes. That’s why Modern Animal’s membership plans can be especially helpful for senior pet care. We keep costs clear from the start, so you always know what to expect. You can choose from:

• All Access Membership ($199/year): This plan includes unlimited in-clinic exams, 24/7 Virtual Care through chat, video, or phone, plus priority access to urgent care when needed.
• Essential Membership ($99/year): This plan includes one in-clinic exam each year and 24/7 Virtual Care to help you stay on top of your senior pet’s health between visits.

If you’d like to try us first before joining a membership, you can choose our Pay-As-You-Go option where each exam costs $85 ($75 in Texas). 

We collect payment at the time of your visit, but it’s easy to manage everything from there. Modern Animal works with all major pet insurance providers and we give you detailed invoices through the app for quick claim submissions. You can also spread out payments through Affirm if that’s more convenient for you.
