As a pet parent, you may find it overwhelming to estimate the true cost of veterinary care.  However, at Modern Animal, we do everything we can to make the details transparent and easy to understand. Before we begin any procedures or start treatment, we'll give you a clear breakdown of the prices. We'll also discuss your options in detail, if any alternatives are available. That way, you know what's best for your pet.

Payment is required at the time of your visit, but we work with all leading pet insurance providers and offer the ability to pay in installments using Affirm. You can use the Modern Animal app to access everything you need to submit a claim to your insurance provider. If you need some assistance with this, our team is always right by your side to help you out.

That's not all. In case you want to skip the exam fees but still enjoy the benefit of ongoing care, you can become a Modern Animal member. You have two plans to choose from:

• All Access Membership: Priced at $199/year in Colorado and California (and $169 in Texas), the All Access membership plan gives you access to 24/7 virtual assistance, unlimited visits to the clinic for free exams, and priority access to urgent care for pets who are sick or have minor injuries. 

• Essential Membership: With this plan, which costs $99/year in Colorado and California (and $89 in Texas), you get round-the-clock virtual care and one no-fee exam in our clinic. On your subsequent visits, you’ll have to pay just $75 per exam in Texas and $85 per exam in other cities.

As another option, if you want to understand what Modern Animal offers before you sign up, you can choose to pay as you go. This approach costs $85 per exam in Colorado and California ($75 per exam in Texas), but it doesn’t include access to 24/7 virtual care.

When you become a Modern Animal member, you get ongoing access to our primary care services at transparent prices. There are no surprise fees or hidden charges, we promise. Whether it’s a routine checkup or treatment for a chronic condition, you’ll always know what you’re paying upfront.

Between vet visits, there’s a lot you can do to keep your pet healthy and catch potential issues early. Here are some simple ways to support your pet at home. 

• Keep your pet’s living space clean and comfortable. 
• Maintain a consistent feeding schedule and offer your pet quality food.
• Make sure your pet gets regular exercise and adequate mental stimulation. 
• Check their ears, eyes, skin, and coat for unusual changes. 
• Keep track of the symptoms or concerns to share with your vet.
