Dr. Kosich received his DVM from Texas A&M and brings seven years of experience to The Heights clinic as Lead Doctor. He's wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as he can remember. What sealed the deal was realizing the job is about people, helping families, building trust, and being part of meaningful moments. He loves the medicine, but relationships keep him coming back.
Dr. Howard grew up in Kingsville active in local livestock shows. She received her DVM from Ross and completed her clinical year at Texas A&M. With five years of experience, she now practices at the Rice Village clinic, where she loves problem-solving and connecting with clients. Her patients would describe her as hyper, cuddly, and a nerd.

Dr. Guy-Naghi grew up in Houston with a lifelong love for animals. She spent time on her grandmother's ranch in Mexico, which gave her a deep appreciation for caring for animals. She received her DVM from Texas A&M. At the Rice Village clinic, she loves helping pets feel better and supporting the bond between owners and their animals by helping them better understand their pet's needs.

We provide the full spectrum of day-to-day veterinary care your pet needs to stay healthy and well. Urgent Care
For health issues that should be addressed sooner than a routine visit allows, but are not emergencies, we offer same-day and next-day appointments. This includes things like minor injuries, sudden changes in appetite or behavior, or signs of illness.
24/7 Virtual Care
Chat with a licensed veterinary professional anytime, day or night. Our team can help with general questions, triage concerns, and guidance on whether your pet needs to be seen in person.
Pharmacy
We offer a full-service pharmacy for prescription medications, preventatives, and prescription diets recommended by your care team. You can pick up in the clinic or have items delivered to your door with optional autoship for ongoing needs.’

I had my first visit today and the vet and vet tech were so friendly, warm and professional. They took time to answer all my questions and explained pricing, so I felt comfortable with the treatment plan and cost. They were so very sweet with my old dog!

My first appointment at Modern Animal was a great experience! They were so caring with my puppy Alice and Dr. Ryan Howard covered all of my concerns in detail. I was impressed with the great service and great vibes of the whole team there. The office is also very neat and clean and I love their app that has all my dogs records, appointments and due dates for treatments. This is definitely my baby’s vet for life! My dog genuinely enjoyed her appointment and didn’t want to leave!

took my son (my cat) into the rice village location and if i could give more than 5 stars i would!!! took him in for a checkup, his shots, and a consultation because he recently got fleas for the first time and the vets here were so incredibly kind and understanding!! they listened to all my concerns and explained everything to me in full detail, they were transparent about treatments and pricing the whole way through. my cat Hates the vet and is always quick to find a hiding spot and instead of pulling him out and putting him on the examination table, they both sat on the floor with him and made sure he was okay the whole way through! will most definitely be taking him back here for any future vet visits, thank you sooooo much modern animal for taking such good care of my baby:')

We are not an emergency hospital, but the team at our Rice Village clinic provides full-service primary and urgent care during regular daytime hours. Should an urgent situation arise, Essential and All Access members can reach 24/7 Virtual Care through the app for support and next-step recommendations.
The Rice Village clinic offers wellness, primary, and urgent care for cats and dogs of any breed and size. We do not treat exotic species like rabbits, reptiles, or birds.

Our Rice Village clinic does not offer its own pet insurance plans, but we think having insurance is important because it can reduce unexpected costs throughout your pet’s life. Pet insurance operates on reimbursement, so you’ll pay for services and then request repayment. We work with providers such as Trupanion, Healthy Paws, and Pumpkin, and more, and we can provide the paperwork required for smooth claim submissions.
