Dr. Samuelson grew up in Long Beach and received her DVM from UC Davis. With eight years of experience, she loves the variety of veterinary medicine, going from soft tissue surgery to dentistry to internal medicine all in one day. As Lead Doctor at the Pasadena clinic, she's passionate about high-quality care and working with a talented, hardworking team.

Dr. Compton is a Denver native who received his DVM from Colorado State University. He discovered his passion for veterinary medicine early in life. After veterinary school, he practiced in Tucson for five years before relocating to California. At the Pasadena clinic, he's passionate about collaborating with clients to ensure the well-being of their beloved companions.
Dr. Kang received her DVM from St. George's University. She was inspired to become a vet after studying abroad in Australia during her senior year of college, where she learned about the impact of the human-animal bond. At the Pasadena clinic, she loves internal medicine and preventive care. In her free time, she enjoys nature walks with her dog, cuddling her four cats, and arts & crafts.

Dr. Ohtomo was born and raised in the Chicagoland area and received her DVM from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. At the Pasadena and Studio City clinics, she has a special interest in soft tissue surgery and dentistry. She has two cats and a chihuahua, and has a soft spot for all things tiny

We have taken our dog here for the past four years and we we love the efficiency and care they have shown our dog. Whether it's routine check ups or emergency visits we have to found that, most of the time, booking appointments have not been an issue. Their app is quite nice to book appointments and also accept invoice. We haven't had a trouble with getting persecriptions for our dog's medications or getting insurance claims approved which is nice too. Lastly, or perhaps most importantly, our dog loves coming here because they definitely are not frugal when it comes to giving dog's treats. To say that our dog enjoys coming here would be an understatement.
Lastly, the drinks for the humans ain't bad as well.

I recommend based on my experiences. I've been to two locations, Glendale and Pasadena, and had very positive experiences both times. My dog does not like going to the Vet or to groomers, at all, but at Modern Animal they've always been able to get her in and provide whatever services were needed. I appreciate their patience dealing with her anxiety and they handle her with care.

Dr. Kang and Natalie saw our beloved cat in their urgent care clinic on a Sunday and they were truly wonderful to work with. Very patient, kind, and knowledgeable, who spent lots of time with her. I brought my cat Kiki to Modern Animal's Pasadena clinic on a Sunday where she was seen by Dr. Joanne Kang. My kitty had been throwing up for four days and I was really worried. Dr. Kang and her assistants were very caring, knowledgeable, and skilled. They knew exactly what to do to help my little Kiki feel better. Dr. Kang also knew what tests to run to rule out any serious underlying problems. I was very happy that Kiki was in such good hands when she was in need of professional care.
