Pet parents, meet vet parents.
Dr. Storm is from Texas and received her DVM from Cornell in 2006. She couldn't decide between pediatrician and veterinarian, but both involve detective work and advocating for patients who can't speak for themselves. With 19 years of experience, she loves getting to know patients and their humans, creating relationships where she's both a medical partner and biggest cheerleader.

Dr. da Silva was born and raised in Brazil, where his passion for animals began at a young age. He received his DVM from Faculdades Metropolitanas Unidas before coming to the U.S. to obtain his veterinary license. At the Manhattan Beach clinic, he has a special interest in behavior and nutrition. He loves spending time with his family or doting on his miniature schnauzer, Bela, and his cat, Romeo.

Dr. Dunn is a SoCal native who received her DVM from Iowa State University. At the Manhattan Beach clinic, she has a special interest in feline and geriatric medicine. She loves swimming, gardening, and hiking. Before vet school, she assisted with veterinary care of wild animals at a sanctuary in Namibia. She has two cats, Dewey and Coco, that she loves to spoil.

Dr. Friedman is from Venice Beach and grew up in the South Bay before receiving her DVM from Midwestern University. She's wanted to be a veterinarian since she was four years old, and working with animals all day is a dream come true. With eight years of experience at the Manhattan Beach clinic, she loves her long-term relationships with patients and their families.

We've been bringing our 11-year-old lab to this location for a while now and have had multiple visits with Dr. Yang--she's absolutely wonderful. She consistently takes the time to thoroughly assess our pup, talk through care options, and never makes us feel rushed. Her compassion and professionalism truly stand out.

I would absolutely recommend Modern Animal in Manhattan Beach. I am a crazy dog mom and I drove two hours to see my vet. I was looking for a closer vet for small stuff and incase of an emergency. We have seen Dr. Mercado twice now. She and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Everyone is knowledgeable and gentle with my vet fearing dog. I am so happy to have found Modern Animal. Also the app is amazing!!

Friendly staff and really clean facility. My dog gets nervous at the vet but the staff were very accommodating and understanding. Modern animal has very competitive pricing but they are a lot more transparent with their costs which I like.

I've had many dogs come through this office, everyone is so nice ,attentive and have great care for every dog that walks through their doors. I had schedule a visit for my new puppy and I was incredibly satisfied with the service. Christina and Dr.Yang took very good care of my puppy and I feel he will be in very good hands for the foreseeable future!

Our Manhattan Beach clinic does not offer its own pet insurance plans, but we think having insurance is important because it can make veterinary care more predictable over time. Pet insurance is reimbursement based, so you’ll pay at your visit and then request repayment from your provider. We work with providers such as Healthy Paws, Pumpkin, and Nationwide, and more, and we’ll provide everything you need to file claims.
