Services

From checkups to late night throw ups.

We can help with just about anything pet parenthood asks of you, including primary care, preventive care, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, and more.

Primary Care

We provide the full spectrum of day-to-day veterinary care your pet needs to stay healthy and well. This includes wellness exams, vaccines, nutrition support, parasite prevention, and treatment for common issues like allergies, ear infections, and chronic conditions. We’re here for every stage of your pet’s life.

Urgent Care

For health issues that should be addressed sooner than a routine visit allows, but are not emergencies, we offer same-day and next-day appointments. This includes things like minor injuries, sudden changes in appetite or behavior, or signs of illness.

24/7 Virtual Care

Chat with a licensed veterinary professional anytime, day or night. Our team can help with general questions, triage concerns, and guidance on whether your pet needs to be seen in person.

Pharmacy

We offer a full-service pharmacy for prescription medications, preventatives, and prescription diets recommended by your care team. You can pick up in the clinic or have items delivered to your door with optional autoship for ongoing needs.’

Vaccines

We provide core and lifestyle-based vaccines to protect your pet against preventable diseases. Your care team will tailor a vaccine plan based on your pet’s age, breed, environment, and health history.

Dental Care

We offer comprehensive dental services to keep your pet’s mouth healthy and pain-free. This includes cleanings under anesthesia, full-mouth radiographs, extractions when needed, and personalized care plans to address tartar, gum disease, and other oral health concerns.

Surgery

We offer a range of soft-tissue surgeries performed by licensed veterinarians in a fully equipped surgical suite. Every procedure includes general anesthesia, continuous monitoring, pain management, and personalized recovery plans to keep your pet safe and supported at every step.

Puppies & Kittens

We help you give your new pet the healthiest possible start. From first vaccines to nutrition and behavior guidance, our team supports you through every milestone in their first year.

We had a great experience today at the Encino Modern Animal Office. Dr. Patty and Ed were so kind to Rowan, who tends to get anxious when the equipment comes out. We were given the time to express our concerns about Rowan's wellbeing and the exam he was given was really thorough and gentle.

I took my dog Jamie here, this is a new vet in our area. Usually, vets are unreasonably pricey, but Modern Animal is great! Great pricing, and the yearly membership is so worth it! Jamie wasn’t feeling too well, and we didn’t know what to expect from this vet since it was our first time, but I have to say I’m more than impressed.

Dr. Patty Thongnamsap, Alex, and Amber were incredibly kind, compassionate, and helpful during the visit with our little Lilo. Our family couldn’t be more appreciative. You and your fur baby would be taken care of well here at Modern Animal Encino.

Great experience here with my very vet-reactive dog. My experience with Modern had been better than any of the other 6 vets we’ve tried for our poor girly. They were able to keep her calm, work with us in the ways we know are best for our girl, and we’re very helpful in walking through all of our options in her care. Highly recommend!

The facility is so clean. Edwin is an excellent technician treating the dog so well with so much love. The price was not bad either and we were out in about 10 to 15 minutes for a routine procedure.

Plans and Pricing

A plan for every kind of pet parent.

Whether you have a dog that eats a lot of socks or a cat that just pops by once a year, we’ve got you covered.

Common Questions

Why are regular vet visits important?

Routine check-ups let us assess dental disease, joint stiffness, and weight gain or loss—issues that develop slowly and are easy to miss. We also confirm that vaccine timing and parasite protection are on track. Staying proactive helps reduce the risk of emergency visits.

What support does Modern Animal offer to new pet parents?

The team at our Encino clinic helps new puppy and kitten parents with first-year vaccine timing, feeding routines, and basic training. Essential and All Access members also have 24/7 Virtual Care for support with things like diarrhea or vomiting, teething, behavior questions, skin concerns, and when to come in versus monitor at home.

Does the Modern Animal Encino clinic have 24/7 emergency care?

We are not an emergency hospital, but the team at our Encino clinic provides full-service primary and urgent care during regular daytime hours. If an urgent concern comes up, Essential and All Access members can connect with 24/7 Virtual Care through the app for real-time advice and emergency referral when needed.

What type of animals does the Modern Animal Encino clinic treat?

At our Encino clinic, we offer wellness exams, routine care, and urgent care for cats and dogs of all breeds and sizes. We do not see exotic animals like rabbits, reptiles, or birds.

How can I book a visit at Modern Animal’s Encino clinic?

You can easily book a visit at our Encino clinic online or in the Modern Animal app. If you prefer to speak with someone, you can call 866-505-8755 between 6am and 6pm PST.

Does Modern Animal Encino accept or offer pet insurance?

Our Encino clinic does not offer its own pet insurance plans, but we think having insurance is important because it can help make veterinary expenses more predictable. Pet insurance works through reimbursement, so you’ll pay at the time of service and then request repayment from your provider. We work with providers such as Nationwide, Spot, and Trupanion, and we’ll share everything required for smooth claim submissions.
