Dr. De Silva is from LA and received her VMD from UPenn.
Practicing since 2010, she loves that veterinary medicine requires both analytical and artistic skills, from managing diabetics to performing surgery to guiding families through difficult decisions. As Lead Doctor at the Downtown LA clinic, she values mentoring colleagues and the collaborative community that makes Modern Animal special.

Dr. Han is from Fremont and received her DVM from UC Davis.
She grew up with three golden retrievers and loved visiting zoos and aquariums. By age five, she knew she wanted to work with animals for the rest of her life. At the Downtown LA clinic, she loves connecting with people and seeing the bonds they share with their pets.

She was drawn to veterinary medicine by her own family pets and seeing the impact of animal rescue. At the Downtown LA clinic, she loves connecting with people who love their animals. She's passionate about feline medicine and has four cats: Penny Lane, Lucy, Gin, and Rye.
Dr. Yang is from Irvine and received his DVM from Iowa State University.
He discovered his calling in high school while volunteering at a local animal hospital, moved by animals who can't tell us when something is wrong yet rely completely on us for help. At the Downtown LA clinic, he loves meeting new people and their pets, creating individualized care plans in a collaborative environment.

Urgent Care
For health issues that should be addressed sooner than a routine visit allows, but are not emergencies, we offer same-day and next-day appointments. This includes things like minor injuries, sudden changes in appetite or behavior, or signs of illness.
24/7 Virtual Care
Chat with a licensed veterinary professional anytime, day or night. Our team can help with general questions, triage concerns, and guidance on whether your pet needs to be seen in person.
Pharmacy
We offer a full-service pharmacy for prescription medications, preventatives, and prescription diets recommended by your care team. You can pick up in the clinic or have items delivered to your door with optional autoship for ongoing needs.’
Vaccines

Modern Animal has been a great place for proper and kind dog care for my great dane. They also had some payment plan options which is immensely helpful. They have appointments available often and different kinds, they are very attentive. They have urgent care appointments, and you use their mobile app to have all the records, medications, and chatting with vets as needed all in one place. Very efficient. They are also mindful of isolating animals that may be exhibiting coughing or contagious sickness. They also have nice bottled water and coffee for guests.

The team at our Downtown LA clinic supports new pet parents with first-year care, feeding, and what to expect as their pet grows. Essential and All Access members also get 24/7 Virtual Care for things like potty training questions, mild digestive issues, skin or ear irritation, and quick guidance between appointments.
We are not an emergency hospital, but the team at our Downtown LA clinic offers primary and urgent care during regular daytime hours. If an urgent concern comes up, Essential and All Access members can reach 24/7 Virtual Care through the app for immediate support and next-step recommendations.
The Downtown LA clinic offers wellness, primary, and urgent care for cats and dogs of all breeds and sizes. We do not provide care for exotic species like rabbits, reptiles, or birds.

Our Downtown LA clinic does not offer its own pet insurance plans, but we believe insurance can help reduce financial uncertainty over time. Since pet insurance is claims based, you’ll pay at the clinic and then submit a claim to your provider. We work with companies like Trupanion, Pumpkin, and Spot, and more, and we can provide the paperwork needed for reimbursement.
