Dr. Zylstra is from Chehalis, Washington and received her DVM from Washington State University 13 years ago. Her reason for becoming a vet is simple: "Have you met dogs and cats? They are great." At the Culver City clinic, she loves helping pets and their humans live their best lives with a wonderful team that works together to provide great experiences.

Dr. Woodling is from Kansas City and received her DVM from the University of Missouri 20 years ago. After her first two puppies developed epilepsy and she didn't receive the support she needed, she wanted to become the kind of veterinarian who provides empathy and education. At the Culver City clinic, she loves the collaborative team environment and training doctors in surgery and dentistry.

Dr. Pickering was born in LA and received her DVM from Kansas State University before completing a rotating small animal internship at VCA ASEC. She's been practicing since 2020 and loves working with people, from her tight-knit team to clients she's known for years. She's passionate about preventative medicine and keeping pets healthy so they spend more time enjoying life outside the clinic.

Dr. Haney is from Castle Rock, Colorado and received his DVM from the University of Arizona. He's drawn to the science behind medicine and building strong client relationships. At the Culver City clinic, he works alongside a compassionate team, helping pets through everything from wellness visits to urgent care. His patients would describe him as a snuggler, treatologist, and pawsaver.
Dr. Figueroa is originally from LA and received her DVM from The Ohio State University. She's always felt a strong connection to animals, but volunteering at a vet clinic solidified her path. At the Culver City clinic, she loves building life-long relationships with families, providing care at every life stage. Patients would describe her as a compassionate, patient, and friendly treat dispenser.

With 15 years of experience, she's had a passion for animals since childhood and loves the problem-solving side of reaching a diagnosis. Best vets ever. We've had several visits this year, including surgery, and I every time was great. All the doctors, but especially Dr Pickering at Culver City are wonderful. It's so high tech that during the surgery we were getting text updates! I love this place.

Was having problems with my old vet, who wasn't returning calls or emails. Saw the the good reviews on Yelp and decided to switch. It couldn't have been easier to make an appointment. Their app is wonderful and I got an appointment with 18 hours. The doctor was kind, cheerful and answered all of our questions. We received the test results within 24 hours on the app on a Sunday morning at 4 am, which allowed us to stop quarantining the cat right away. The prices and services were excellent. So far I'm very impressed.

The staff here are always so courteous and helpful! The rooms are clean. My puppy saw Dr. Cruz and Dr. Gober on different occasions and I was very impressed. They are patient, knowledgeable, and had the best bedside manner. They explained things well and were very open to all the questions I had. They made me and my puppy feel very comfortable. I learned so much from Dr. Cruz in just a short amount of time—I appreciate the time he took to explain things to us and he was very attentive to our concerns. Going to the vet can be nerve-wrecking, but Dr. Gober created a welcoming space and made us feel reassured with her enthusiastic manner. I recommend seeing either one of these vets!

Our first visit at Modern Animal went great today . Dr. Ginsberg and Sarina were very thorough and patient with our grumpy 16 YO Shih Tzu . They took the time to answer all the questions which we never got answers for and were very friendly. Amazing facility and staff . Thanks!

The clinic was transparent about pricing and didn’t push any unnecessary treatments or tests. They truly made a typically nerve-racking experience into something enjoyable! My pup can’t wait to go back and get more yummy treats!
