About the transition
We're transitioning our pharmacy to Chewy Pharmacy to provide the most convenient pharmacy experience for our members, including faster home delivery, Autoship, great pricing, and 24/7 support from licensed pharmacists.
Starting July 6, 2026, you'll be able to order prescription medications with Chewy Pharmacy directly through the Modern Animal app, giving you access to fast home delivery, Autoship savings, and 24/7 support from licensed pharmacists.As part of this transition:
- New Modern Animal Pharmacy Autoships can no longer be created after June 22, 2026.
- Existing Modern Animal Pharmacy Autoships will be canceled on July 6, 2026.
- To continue receiving medications through Autoship, you'll need to set up a new Autoship with Chewy Pharmacy.
This transition is beginning on July 6, 2026 with members whose primary clinic is in Texas or Colorado. Our California clinics will transition to Chewy Pharmacy later this year.
Prescriptions & Vet Care
As of July 6, the most convenient way to fulfill your pet's prescription is through Chewy Pharmacy within the Modern Animal app. If you'd prefer to use another pharmacy, you can download your pet's prescription and have it filled at the pharmacy of your choice.
Yes, your Modern Animal veterinary team will continue to prescribe and approve medications for your pet as needed.
Chewy Pharmacy carries thousands of prescription medications. In the very unlikely event your pet's medication isn't available, our team will work with you to find the best option to ensure your pet's health needs are taken care of.
Yes, you are able to pick up your prescriptions in-clinic as an alternative to home delivery. There is no change to our in-clinic prescriptions pick-up process.
Autoship
Modern Animal Autoship orders for our members in Texas and Colorado will end on July 6, 2026. To continue receiving your pet's medications without interruption, you can easily set up Autoship through Chewy Pharmacy before that date.
Find your pet's medication by searching on Chewy.com. Select 'Autoship' and proceed to check out. At checkout, add "Modern Animal – All Locations (8122 Beverly Blvd)" within the 'Pet and Vet Clinic Information' section. Place your order and Chewy Pharmacy will take care of the rest!
Yes, Chewy Autoship orders receive 5% savings on eligible prescriptions and products. Also, new Chewy Pharmacy customers receive 50% off their first Autoship order (exclusions may apply, maximum $50).

Ordering, Accounts & Pricing
Medication pricing may vary by product, but Chewy Pharmacy offers great pricing across thousands of prescriptions and pet health products. In-clinic pricing will not change.
Chewy Pharmacy offers free shipping on eligible orders over $49.
Orders typically arrive within 3-5 business days of purchase.

If you already have a Chewy account, you can use your existing login. If not, you'll be prompted to create one during the ordering process. We recommend that you use the same e-mail to create your account as your Modern Animal account.
Prescriptions can be ordered through any Chewy account, as long as the pet and prescription information match what is on file with Modern Animal. You can view household members in the Modern Animal app.
